book flea

I've always been a bit of a bookworm, and a constant hoarder of design books that end up full of post-its. Lately, I've run into a couple of intriguing finds that I just may have to snag. ASAP.

The Independent Design Guide is a collection of 400 emerging designers and is chock-a-block with innovation, as you can imagine. I always want to stay ahead of the curve, and I think this is a pretty good guide to who will be the next "big thing." Plus, there's plenty of eye-candy to behold.
Not really sure why I want this one, but it just completetely intrigues me.  The Russian Criminal Tattoo Encyclopedia (I love that there are multiple volumes... and also wonder how it was curated...)  It has to be full of images I've never seen before.  I mean, when was the last time you saw an owl, wings fully extended, with a bow tie and a top hat?  Love it.  Want it.
I've been collecting stuff I've gotten from curbsides and junk fairs and yes, even dumpsters, for quite some time now, and have always intended to make them into something, and I think this is just the thing I need to get me jump started.  Ready Made: How to Make (Almost) Everything.  I've always been fascinated by the magazine, and to discover they have a book makes me super-chipper.
