Design Dispatches: Dutch Design

What is it with the Dutch and awesome design? I think there might be something in the water there. If so, we need to find out what it is and add it to our supply, stat!

Jorine Oosterhoff (Dutch of course!) believes in imagination. She is able to transform everyday objects into functional works of surrealism. Recently, she started a side company called "Freaks United" (how awesome is that name?!?!) that works with international companies to design tableware, cutlery, glassware and other interior products. Definitely watch out for this gal, she's well on her way...

Nathan Wierink and Tineke Beunders of dynamic Dutch design duo Ontwerpduo describe themselves as "a dreamer and a mathematician." Perfect balance, don't you think? I love their quirky and totally ingenious sense of style. Seems to me that they are able to recapture a bit of our childhood while maintaining a sense of sophistication that is totally their own.
